This resource was originally created by myself for my Autistic teenage son to support his independence. The resource has been expanded to include for sequencing and shopping lists.

Visual Recipe
Support students to read the visual recipe and complete the cooking activity.
Visual Recipes Included:
- Toast with butter
- Grilled cheese
- Ham and cheese sandwich
- Peanut butter and jelly sandwich (EU spelling option available also)
- Scrambled eggs
- Pizza
- Fruit Salad
- Smoothie
- Chocolate apples
- Donut/Doughnut
- Cookie Dough
- Popcorn
- Recipe Instructions
For students who would like create an altered version of each recipe, for example swapping out ingredients for a preferred item, they can utilise the “Instructions” sheet to plan out their edits.
- Shopping List
Review the chosen visual recipe to determine what ingredients/tools you already have and what you might need to purchase. You can do this the day before and go shopping, or involve the students by having them “shop” your cabinets for the items while marking them off the list.
